We’re excited to share our latest agent spotlight — meet Eastern Insurance! Founded in 1989, Eastern Insurance has grown to be the 31st largest property and casualty insurance agency in the United States.
Eastern Insurance has become a leader in the insurance industry, and with over 400 insurance professionals on staff, 23 office locations, and 24/7 support, their commitment to service is evident. Individuals, corporations and their employees benefit from their partnerships with over 50 insurance companies, allowing them to find the best coverage and insurance solutions for every situation.
Alongside their parent company, Eastern Bank, Eastern Insurance launched their #JoinUsForGood movement in 2017 to do good things to help people prosper, every day. Going above and beyond to give back to local communities throughout New England, Eastern Insurance encourages employees to get involved by hosting team building volunteer opportunities during work hours and offers one paid day off per year for employees to volunteer with the charitable organization of their choice. These efforts are more than just feel-good policies though, the employees of Eastern Insurance truly embrace and represent the movement in a variety of ways. For example, Megan Donnell volunteers for the MAGIC Foundation, a non-profit that supports families of children afflicted with chronic or critical disorders, syndromes and diseases. Brian Bolduc challenged himself to lose 80 pounds so he could donate one of his kidneys to save his mother’s life. Michael Uretsky volunteers for veterans’ support and networking groups. Christina Sheehan has run the Boston Marathon twice and the Marine Corps Marathon, raising thousands of dollars for charity. Traci Maslanka is a passionate youth sports volunteer. Ruth Ann Silverman has hand-knitted hundreds of winter hats for local children in need. In 2018 alone, Eastern Insurance employees volunteered a collective 3,910 recorded hours. Based on feedback from employee surveys, they truly value these volunteer opportunities and say they’re a huge benefit of working for a community-minded organization. From Cradles to Crayons to Rise Against Hunger, Eastern Insurance employees are truly happy to donate time, energy, and resources to give back to organizations that are making a positive impact and creating change.
