Gove and Feldman Agent Spotlight

We’re excited to introduce you to our latest #AgentSpotlight, Gove & Feldman Insurance Agency.

Gove & Feldman Insurance Agency, Inc. began its prestigious history in the mid-1940s by sole proprietor Herbert L. Gove. By 1957, the success of the business and the growing needs of the Greater Boston area resulted in a 23year professional partnership with Richard Porter. Several years later, further company growth brought the addition of Peter Gove to the firm. For nearly 50 years the agency was located on Bostons Broad Street, the longtime heart of the insurance district

Bruce Feldman, Peter Goves son in law, joined the agency in 1991, and the company offices moved from Boston to Wakefield, Massachusetts. Continued growth thereafter led to the acquisition of the Frank W. Johnson Agency in coastal Rockport, Massachusetts — an integration of both offices in 2004 would bring the agency to Rockport. In January of 2007, Bruce Feldman purchased Gray, Gove & Gove, Inc. from Peter Gove and the two continued to work together until Peters retirement in January of 2012.

Having a background in construction, Bruce moved their office to Main Street in Rockport, to design and develop a new office building for the agency. In 2015, they officially announced their agency name change to Gove & Feldman Insurance Agency, Inc. Throughout their history, they have operated under the same mission: “We seek to understand the needs of our clients and fulfill those needs by providing accurate information and quality products.” Today, their employees have become like family and provide a crucial role in the success of the agency as a whole.

Priding themselves on the highest level of customer service provided by their employees, they help insureds understand their coverage options and find the right plan for their needs. Because of this, they have been able to retain many of their customers, some of whom are now fourth-generation clients, noting that “the service our employees provide is the key to them coming back over the years.”

Gove & Feldman is one of only 28 insurance agencies in Massachusetts to earn the Five Star Designation from the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) an honor awarded only to agencies who have passed a rigorous fitness review of every aspect of the insurance business. Once obtained, the agency must undergo a review every three years in order to maintain their Five Star status. The dedication required to earn this status is matched by the dedication Gove & Feldman provides to fulfilling the needs of each of their clients.

Outside of the office, the Gove & Feldman team spends much of their time supporting local community organizations. Bruce Feldman is also currently President of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, which supports the communities of Rockport, Gloucester, Manchester By The Sea and Essex.
