Barnes Insurance Agent Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re excited to introduce our newest #AgentSpotlight on AE Barnes Insurance Agency, who will be celebrating their 104th anniversary this year!<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A landmark in the Weymouth community, A.E. Barnes Insurance Agency was founded in 1915 by Albert E. Barnes. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1954, Henry Hoffman purchased the agency, with sons Preston and Geoff joining him in 1977 and 1987. Today, Preston is the President of the agency and Geoff, CPCU, is the Vice President. In the early 1980s, A.E. Barnes moved from the Fogg Building to their current location right outside of Columbian Square. This move helped the business grow over the years before ultimately being purchased by Cross Insurance in 2017, a change which further helped facilitate growth and gain more traction in the insurance industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over the last 100 years, they have worked to expand their reach and capabilities and are proud to now serve a large segment of the local Weymouth community and beyond \u2014 working with individuals, families and local businesses, they have become one of the most knowledgeable and trusted independent insurance agencies in Southeastern Massachusetts. T<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">hey pride themselves on their commitment to providing the highest level of insurance expertise, the best coverage options and superior service. Many of the employees in the office have been with the agency for decades, allowing them to get to know their customers and build relationships with them over the years. In 2014, they were recognized by Mayor Susan M. Kay for their 100th year in business and for being a long-time business owner in Columbian Square.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Outside of the insurance industry, A.E. Barnes is heavily involved in the community. Currently, they are a member of the Columbian Square Business Association, a quintessential organization in the Weymouth community that is always looking for ways to help support locals. Alongside Quincy Mutual Group, they are also a Platinum Member of the President\u2019s Circle for the South Shore Health System. Donations for this organization help ensure affordable healthcare access to everyone in the region. Additionally, A.E. Barnes has been a sponsor of the Weymouth Babe Ruth Baseball for over 52 years.
