{"id":2367,"date":"2019-12-05T21:59:06","date_gmt":"2019-12-05T21:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.quincymutual.com\/blog\/?p=2367"},"modified":"2023-11-07T16:03:02","modified_gmt":"2023-11-07T16:03:02","slug":"anchor-insurance-group-agent-spotlight","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.quincymutual.com\/blog\/anchor-insurance-group-agent-spotlight\/","title":{"rendered":"Anchor Insurance Group Agent Spotlight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We\u2019re excited to introduce you to our latest #AgentSpotlight, Anchor Insurance Group, a female-owned and operated insurance agency who will be celebrating their ninth year in business this December.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Originally working in life insurance before taking a 10-year hiatus as a stay at home mom, Debi McManus re-entered the familiar field as a part-time customer service representative for Anchor Insurance Group in 1997 after Mike O\u2019Connor offered her an impromptu interview, and she\u2019s been with the agency ever since. Her business partner, Jill McElroy, joined the team as a part-time receptionist in 2000 while attending Boston University before ultimately working her way up to a full-time position in commercial lines and finally an agency manager.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unfortunately, Mike fell ill in 2005, and Debi and Jill stepped up to run the business while he focused on his health. After eight years commuting from East Sandwich to Dedham Square, Debi moved back to her hometown Dedham and has remained committed to Anchor Insurance ever since. In 2010, Debi McManus and Jill McElroy began their journey as agency owners, taking over the reins of the agency \u2014 and still remain \u201cthe anchor when you need us most\u201d to their clients today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a women-owned and operated agency<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Anchor strives to provide the best possible experience for their clients in every aspect \u2014 ensuring customers that they are by their side through it all. Focusing on their individual needs, every client is a priority at Anchor and employees are encouraged to focus on educating customers and delivering stable, competitive products. Their success depends on the integrity and trust of their customers and they are committed to establishing and achieving their unique goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Anchor Insurance strives to give back to their local communities, and each year chooses new fundraisers and charities to support. With the help of their dedicated staff, Anchor is able to stay connected with the local community and offer their support. One of the organizations they have remained committed to over the years is the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/bourquefamilyfoundation.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Bourque Family Foundation<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, a nonprofit they support and the Susan G. Komen Walk annually. The Bourque Family Foundation aims to make strides in the causes that are important in every community and brings people together to make an impact on many different organizations, people and communities in need. Additionally, they give back to local food pantries during the holiday season as well as many other charitable organizations throughout the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe could not have grown the agency into the successful business it is today without our outstanding staff and feel grateful to have them as part of our Anchor family,\u201d Debi and Jill told us. \u201cLooking back over the past nine years, we wouldn\u2019t have changed a thing. Our passion for Anchor and strong beliefs in the independent agency system as a whole propels us forward.\u201d Today, Debi &amp; Jill have four locations in Newton Centre, Dedham Square, Waltham &amp; Marlboro Center.
