<\/p>\n

Gove <\/span>& <\/span>Feldman Insurance <\/span>Agency<\/span>, <\/span>Inc<\/span>. <\/span>began <\/span>its <\/span>prestigious <\/span>history <\/span>in <\/span>the <\/span>mid-1940s<\/span> by <\/span>sole <\/span>proprietor <\/span>Herbert <\/span>L<\/span>. <\/span>Gove<\/span>. <\/span>By <\/span>1957, <\/span>the <\/span>success <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>business <\/span>and <\/span>the growing <\/span>needs <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>Greater <\/span>Boston <\/span>area <\/span>resulted <\/span>in <\/span>a <\/span>23<\/span>–<\/span>year <\/span>professional <\/span>partnership <\/span>with <\/span>Richard <\/span>Porter<\/span>. <\/span>Several <\/span>years <\/span>later<\/span>, <\/span>further <\/span>company <\/span>growth <\/span>brought the <\/span>addition of <\/span>Peter <\/span>Gove <\/span>to <\/span>the <\/span>firm<\/span>. <\/span>For <\/span>nearly <\/span>50 <\/span>years <\/span>the <\/span>agency <\/span>was <\/span>located <\/span>on <\/span>Boston<\/span>‘<\/span>s <\/span>Broad Street, <\/span>the <\/span>longtime heart <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>insurance <\/span>district<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Bruce Feldman<\/span>, <\/span>Peter <\/span>Gove<\/span>‘<\/span>s <\/span>son <\/span>in <\/span>law<\/span>, <\/span>joined the <\/span>agency <\/span>in <\/span>1991, <\/span>and <\/span>the <\/span>company <\/span>offices <\/span>moved from <\/span>Boston <\/span>to <\/span>Wakefield<\/span>, <\/span>Massachusetts<\/span>. <\/span>Continued <\/span>growth <\/span>thereafter <\/span>led <\/span>to <\/span>the acquisition <\/span>of <\/span>the <\/span>Frank <\/span>W<\/span>. <\/span>Johnson <\/span>Agency <\/span>in <\/span>coastal <\/span>Rockport, <\/span>Massachusetts<\/span> \u2014 a<\/span>n integration<\/span> of <\/span>both <\/span>offices <\/span>in <\/span>2004 would <\/span>bring <\/span>the <\/span>agency <\/span>to <\/span>Rockport<\/span>. <\/span>In January of <\/span>2007, <\/span>Bruce <\/span>Feldman <\/span>purchased Gray<\/span>, Gove <\/span>& <\/span>Gove<\/span>, <\/span>Inc<\/span>. <\/span>from <\/span>Peter <\/span>Gove <\/span>and <\/span>the <\/span>two <\/span>continued to <\/span>work <\/span>together <\/span>until Peter<\/span>‘<\/span>s <\/span>retirement <\/span>in <\/span>January <\/span>of <\/span>2012.<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Having a <\/span>background <\/span>in <\/span>construction,<\/span> Bruce moved their office <\/span>to <\/span>Main <\/span>Street <\/span>in <\/span>Rockport<\/span>, to design and develop a new office building for the agency. In 2015, they officially announced their agency name change to Gove & Feldman Insurance Agency, Inc. Throughout their history, they have operated under the same mission: “We seek to understand the needs of our clients and fulfill those needs by providing accurate information and quality products.” Today, their employees have become like family and provide a crucial role in the success of the agency as a whole.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Priding themselves on the highest level of customer service provided by their employees, they help insureds understand their coverage options and find the right plan for their needs. Because of this, they have been able to retain many of their customers, some of whom are now fourth-generation clients, noting that \u201cthe service our employees provide is the key to them coming back over the years.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Gove & Feldman is one of only 28 insurance agencies in Massachusetts to earn the Five Star Designation from the Massachusetts Association of Insurance Agents (MAIA) an honor awarded only to agencies who have passed a rigorous fitness review of every aspect of the insurance business. Once obtained, the agency must undergo a revie<\/span>w <\/span><\/i>every three years in order to maintain their Five Star status. The dedication required to earn this status is matched by the dedication Gove & Feldman provides to fulfilling the needs of each of their clients.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outside of the office, the Gove & Feldman team spends much of their time supporting local community organizations. Bruce Feldman is also currently President of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce, which supports the communities of Rockport, Gloucester, Manchester By The Sea and Essex.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
